What arrives

One envelope. Rather a lot inside it.

In the envelope

  • The letter My own stories, travels and reflections — written the way you’d write to an old friend. My rescue dog Otter, the horses, the performing years, love and loss, and the wild ride in between.
  • An original print A giclée print, made from one of my own photographs and printed on 100% cotton fiber paper produced from the ARCHES® traditional molds that create beautiful texture. 5″ × 7″, ready to frame.
  • A quote to keep Something worth remembering, printed on a card that doubles as a bookmark.
  • Two postcards One for you. One already stamped — so you can send a little something on to a friend without hunting for a stamp.
  • A few surprises I won’t spoil them.

And beyond the envelope

  • A playlist Scan the code inside and the music I had in mind while writing plays along with you.
  • The private group A quiet corner on Facebook, just for letter friends, where you can say hello to one another.
I knew we were not going to make it home without getting soaked, so I just laughed and strolled the rest of the way home. All the while thinking what a picture we must have been — a woman and her dog strolling through the rain.

About Zuzu

I believe there is still magic in the world.

I was nicknamed Zuzu after Zuzu Bailey in It’s A Wonderful Life — the youngest daughter of George Bailey, who believed that every time a bell rings an angel gets its wings. I watch the movie at least once a year, and sometimes more.

I entered this world programmed to love music, horses, performing and people. My mother told me I sang before I talked. I spent many years as a singer, dancer, puppeteer, actor, equestrian and manager for some of the biggest entertainment companies in the world.

It was loss that sent me on a journey of self-discovery and led me to my real purpose: working in equine assisted activities and therapies, helping people heal through partnering with horses. When people ask if I miss performing, I can honestly say no.

It seems to me our world needs a little more love and kindness these days. That is what I hope you find each time you open one of my letters.

When your first letter arrives

Letters are posted to reach you before the end of each month.

Order by the 15th and this month’s letter is yours. Order after the 15th and you’ll begin with next month’s — no letter goes missing either way.

December is the exception. Order through the 20th and the December letter still goes out to you — though with the Christmas post being what it is, I can’t promise it lands before the day itself.
